About 3 months ago I replaced my antenna mast. It fairly simple to do particularly with the information I found on the Lexus forum. Last week, the antenna's nylon cord got wrapped inside the motor casing and while I was removing the plastic cord, I decided to pull the electrical connection from the antenna motor.
I now have the antenna mast in the up position and it is so nice when I turn on/off the keys to not have to hear that irritating sound of the motor, cord, and antenna mast.
If there is a short "Stuby type" antenna that I could install on the top of the roof, I plan to get it. In the meantime, I'm quite happy with the interior quietness.
