Default HELP: Cleaned IACV and now car barely stays on | High res pic inside

So i was having the typical IACV car wont stay on when its warm out issue.. I decided to clean out the IACV and after i put everything back the car was stalling when cold and was idling really high (at about 1200 rpm, when warm). When placed in park the idle surged. Tonight i took the whole throttle body off, cleaned everything thoroughly. Now the idle was extremely low. Took it for a drive and was stalling when slowing down. No more idle surge either. I then raised the idle by moving the screw under the butterfly and this is where my problem is.

I had to disconnect the vacuum line that goes to the throttle body so the car can work normally. I believe this goes to some type of EGR valve. Has anyone ever had this issue. When the vacuum line is connected the valve does not touch the idle screw, when unplugged it does. You can see where i pulled it out. What's wrong guru's???

Thanks in advance.

So i was reading up on this and found out the copper washer inside the IACV is called a 'wavy' washer becuase its actually bent on purpose. I thought i had damaged it and unbent it. I wonder but doubt this is the culprit.

I'd keep any vacuum lines hooked up. The accelerator cord shown above can get some crud on it, and you might have to pull it and push it in.

Take a look here, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...t-yours-3.html

At post 45 onward regarding the black baffle (plastic piece you see) as that can get some crud in it and should be cleaned out, too.

Thanks dude. I will make the copper washer wavy again and clean this out tonight. If it still doesnt work i am going to do a video. It just appears to me right now that the car doesnt know it's cold so it doesnt idle at 1200+ rpm like it should.

Will resetting the ECU do anything you think?

It's worth a try, especially if you have had a variation in the weather/temperature recently. Just the other day here in South Florida we suddenly had very cool temperatures and it played a bit of havoc on my morning commute, but was fine by the end of the day.

I am lost;

When you unhook the vacuum pipe, did you plug the hose (to maintain vacuum) for all the other things?

No the long hose in the picture is just open. The car runs fine. In fact that's the only way i can get it to drive normal when warm at the moment.

When connected that circular EGR looking thing has a little rod that goes in and out based on the vacuum. Yesterday (when everything was hooked up like stock) the little rod in there would not come out, causing the car to stall because the throttle bodies werent opening enough.

So i took it to my friends shop and they messed with the throttle body idle adjustment screw. It now turns on and stays on. I did not have time to make the 'wavy' washer wavy again or clean out that other black box. But will do that soon also.
