250 miles fill-up?
I bought a used 99 RX300 and have only been getting 250 miles before the gas light comes on. Is this normal? I heard the newer models have larger fuel tanks but 250 miles is embarrasssing!

300 for me
for a mixed city/hwy travel I get about 310 miles before the light comes on. I have a 2001 so the tank is 19.8. Your light might turn on earlier owing to a smaller tank.
Dont be embarassed- the RX is one of the best w.r.t gas consumption amongst mid size SUVs

Fill up every day
I'm getting to be good friends with the gas station attendant at the tunnel into NYC. (Gas is about 20 cents/gal cheaper on Jersey side versus Manhattan).
The 250 mile tank is a total bummer and about my only complaint about the 2000 model. I was stuck in a 39 month lease or that alone would have been sufficient for me to bail and get later model.
And the NAV
And Mark Levinson...

I'm tempted to trade it in for a 95 Geo Metro for the superior mpg, but I'll stick with the RX...
Mine comes on around 260. Any idea how much gas is supposed to be left in the tank when it comes on? At least that way, I can multiply my mpg and come up with how desperate i am to fill'er up.
Thanks,
Mike

How much gas is left...
Look in the owners manual for the gas tank capacity. Next time the light comes on, fill up asap and see how much gas you can put in. Subtract this amount from the tank capacity and you will know how much time/miles you have after the light comes on
