Weird Audio Problem

Weird Audio Problem
Yesterday I was driving and enjoying one of my favorite CDs when the CD player started skiping on one of the songs. I tried to hit the forward button and nothing happened, I tried to change to another CD but nothing happened then I tried to hit the radio FM/AM buttons and both radio and the stuck song started playing at the same time. None of the buttons could do anything. I powered off the audio and then powered it back on but got the same results. Then I ejected the CD cartridge and re-inserted it and re-tried all of the above steps - to no avail. I was very upset and didn't know what to do. I had to stop at a grocery store and when I came back everything worked fine including the song that started the fiasco in the first place. Turning the engine did the trick. But now I can't reproduce it to show it to the dealer.
Has anyone else has experienced this bizzare audio problem?

I had this exact same thing.
My got even a little wierder. I turned the car off. Ejected the CD. Tried to get just FM and was getting tape and fm. Could not get just tape. Then couldn't get radio to turn off at all.
I powered down the car for a couple of minutes wouldn't go away. I turned the car off for 20 minutes and it started working fine. It has been over a year and has not done it since. The dealership said they have never heard of such a thing.
I thought it was just because of the aftermarket stuff I put in.
Glad to hear I wasn't crazy.

What kind of aftermarket stuff did you think caused it? In my case I dont have anything other than a radar detector that I started using about a couple of weeks ago. Buts that plugs into the power outlet and I would hope that it is OK to use it without draining too much current - causing bizzare electronics behavior.
I'm relieved though, to hear that :
1) Someone else has experienced this
2) Its (hopefully) a one time occurence

yea you are right
I had an audio installer put in a amp and sub and wire it directly to the line level outputs. typically this could never cause something this wacky. My biggest fear was the problem re-occuring and then the dealer noticing the extra work I had done and not fixing it. Since it has not happened again, I have not worried about it.
