Default Transmission service

I have a 99 RX. It has 146,000 miles on it and it runs great. I purchased this off a family member who did not take very good care of it. I had to put $3000 into it after I bought it with O2 sensors, exhaust pipe, and tune up. The only thing I have not done is anything with the transmission. I am getting 23 miles a gallon. The transmission is smooth except for cold mornings when I feel it takes a while for it to shift into the next gear, but once warmed up that is not a problem.

My question is should I get a transmission service done or stick with the philosophy "if it is not broke don't fix it."

Thanks,
Dietz

Well, the delayed shifts when cold are normal. It has to do with heating up the cat.converters.I would drop the pan, clean the strainer if it has a paper filter instead, replace that. Also clean the pan and magnets real good.If it`s all wheel drive, service the transfer case and rear diff.put everything back together, drive it.And in the next few weeks,do a few more drain and fills to get as much new fluid in it as possible.
