That's what a body-on-frame design and a weak 3.5 liter V6 will do to ya. I would say Kia did a pretty good job of designing the Sorento, but they didn't design it.

So you went to the Kia dealership today Paddy (I just can't call you Daddy, too weird). Did you take a test drive??

Yeah, I posted before noticing your other thread. I saw you were at a Mitsubishi place from the Kia picture, then read that you test drove the Mitsu. Figured then that you just took the pic while you were there.

Here in Macon we have a Dodge, Chrysler, Hyundai, Mazda place

Default Kia is growing on my wife

Well, What can I say. It looks like the RX, and to buy a used RX here in the midwest you have to shell out an arm and a leg. EG) used 1999 with 52K, the best deal I can find is 26,995. She can get the loaded KIA for 27,500 with zero miles. I try not so sway her, since it is her vehicle, but lexus vs kia is quite different, well at least I still think that. Any ideas on depreciation values of Kia's. And yes I know it is a f***n' Kia.

I can't imagine Kia and Lexus even being mentioned in the same sentence. See I just did it and already I feel dirty...

If you buy a Kia, you'll be sorry It's a pretender... a poor substitute.

Even so, I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of them on the roads this time next year....

I don't see what the big deal is. I think it's great that KIA copied the RX with their, what is it called again, Sorento. Design-wise it's better than their other offerings.

Those of us who know and can afford better, realize that it can't approach the quality of Lexus. The KIA's shortcomings are pretty bad. Worse gas mileage, slower, worse ride etc. But honestly, if I couldn't afford an RX, I'd be really happy that the KIA is available. I'm for better looking vehicles on the road and less Azteks. That's a good point too. Would you prefer more Az-wrecks on the road?

Those of us that have a Lexus... well it reminds me of an Eddie Murphy routine: I gotta Lexus. You ain't got no Lexus, 'cause you on welfare...

Default Kia = RX300 Never...ha.ha.ha.ha!

Wow,

I can't believe how paranoid all you Quality Lexus owners are. If you research alittle first you would see the the Kia falls...literally short of the RX.

**First engine - 3.5 L only putting out a measley 192 HP.....Rx300 3.0 L 225 Hp ........well advantage Lexus.
**Kia......only driver side window auto.........RX300 Full Auto Power four windows and sunroof.....advantage Lexus.
**Kia, driver side only power seat...............Rx300 ....dual power front seats...(with two driver memory for driver) ...advantage Lexus.
**Kia..styled steel wheels.......RX300 Aluminum wheels(chrome optional).....advantage Lexus.
**Kia.........when your friends see it..." You bought a Kia....ha,ha,ha,ha,ha. RX300....when your friends see it...." Oh My you can afford a Lexus"..............(Priceless).................... advantage Lexus.

So when it all adds up......Let the other auto makers make rip offs of a toyota/lexus..........cause that is all they will be cheap imitations.......

Ha.ha.ha.ha.ha.ha.......

Oh yeah....2002 Rx300 Indigo Ink Pearl.....making the girlies heads whirl............

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha..........!

I agree. I am sold on the lexus, that is why I drive a GS4. But explaining these differences to my wife, and then the price difference expecially with other high priced items on her agenda eg) hot tub, 72"HDTV, etc.. she wants to have lower payments. But if you say lexus and kia in the same sentence, which one sounds better ?? and the wow's come from the lexus name not kia. I will let you all know how her decision is made.

Question

Does KIA give you a loaner for the day while they work on and wash your other KIA?

I have a1999 RX300 and bought it from a private party, 6 months later the transmission started going out, my Lexus dealer bought and installed a new transmission (I paid the install)! Show me one other car company that would have done this! I didn't have any warranty, I didn't have any ties to the dealership other than the fact they were the closest one to my house.

One time my car was in for servicing and the drivers seat lower leather was accidentaly torn, they replaced the entire lower section of leather and detailed the car inside and out (as usual), again for FREE! And gave me a loaner for the day!

Lexus takes care of their cars and customers!

If someone wants to pay less and get a car that looks like a Lexus then go ahead! Don't complain when you take it in for servicing and it comes back in worse shape then it went in...and you get charged for it.

My two cents!

badams (proud owner of a 1999 RX300 and a 1996 ES300...unproud owner of a 1989 Jeep Cherokee). Will I ever buy another car that doesn't say Lexus on it...NO!

Yeah it's almost a copy but hey look at it! Kia can't copy it nice enough. THeir quailty sucks and does not look even close to an RX300 when looked closely. From far away, hey it looks like an RX. From close-up, hey, it's a bootleg RX300! Wait! It's an ugly bootleg RX300!
