Brake problems after being parked in the rain??? Help please!
Hello everyone,
Today i was doing some work in the garage so I had the car parked outside, on my driveway. There was light/moderate rain throughout the period that it had been outside.
After i was finished, I started the car, put it to drive, and drove into the garage.
Every time i stepped on the brakes even slightly, it seemed that the ABS was activated... Specifically the front brakes.
However, I do not recall any ABS light flashing or anything abnormal. This led me to believe that it may not have been ABS, It felt like a crunching, clunking which made me believe that it was the ABS though.
Here are some more conditions:
Drove it earlier for about 15 minutes in the rain to pick up supplies.
Brake pads were changed this summer.
Battery was changed a month ago.
Car was driven in rain after the battery change and no conditions mentioned above were observed.
Also, as a side note, I am experiencing another possible "issue"
After the car is warmed up and i slow to make a right turn,WHen i accelerate slowly after that right turn, the rpms rise quickly.I can hear/feel that revving and there isnt much power. The power is regained after that burst of rpms.
Is this a sign of the dreaded transmission failure? or just normal RX behavior?
Thanks in advance for your help!!!

I think there is nothing wrong with your brakes. Typically the Lexus discs rust-up real quick. Drive it a bit and normal braking will burn it off.

thats interesting, i never noticed this issue before but it is possible that most other times i backed up or drove off longer than it i took to brake when entering my garage.

As everyone already said, drive it. It is most likely just rust that will wear off in less than a mile. If this doesn't do it, you may have the ABS activation problem that is fairly common on the RX. Others have had this problem and it is usually caused by ABS sensor ring failure which is part of and requires replacement of the axle shaft. If this is the case you will have ABS activation when coming to a stop without any warning lights. A forum search on ABS will give you plenty of info on this problem.
