Hi,
It started happening today morning when driving to work. The car would not respond well to acceleration. The check engine light is blinking when car is in gear/moving. The car wobbles when stopped at a traffic signal and the car is in gear. There was a bad fumes smell for sometime then it disappeared.
Has anybody faced this situation? What are the probable causes?
I am just trying to get an idea of what are the possible causes and the resolution. Does it look like transmission problem? Or is it some sensor that has gone wrong?
Thanks for your help.

Okay, you said the check engine light is blinking? Sounds like you have a miss fire, (probably one of the ignition coils). DO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN THIS CONDITION!! or you will incur more problems. i.e catalytic converter failure etc. Never drive the vehicle any time the check engine light is flashing, that means vehicle needs service NOW.

time to buy a new Rx350 my friend ![Wink](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
j/k - like lexus114 said, engine is having multiple cylinder misfires, take it to the dealership, have them pull the trouble codes, swap coil pack if the misfire goes to new cylinder, replace ignition coil pack, if misfire code stays in original cylinder, the injector is bad.
now the important question, what type of fuel do you use? unleaded or premium?

After you get it straightened out,I would recommend premium fuel. Or at least good gas i.e Shell,Chevron, etc. Remember, most all new cars will run okay on regular, but as valve train wear, carbon build up,and over all age of the vehicle. They will almost alway`s benefit from the higher octane.

I have similar issues with my lexus rx330. The check engine light keeps blinking, the car shakes even when stationary with the engine on especially in traffic, and the car does not ride smoothly on the high way.
I took it to a mechanic workshop/servicing centre where it was suggested that it's engine spark plugs problem which I let them change all six. The air filter and adjacent parts were cleaned including the air flow meter. However, prior to the development of this "flashing check engine light" they have changed the passenger front shock absorberror, both shaft tubing protector, and the two steering locks (the thyroid, the previous day. The problem continues.
Today, I had the car scanned and got these codes:
C1223 (malfunctioning ABS)
C1246 (malfunctioning master cylinder pressure sensor)
P0304 (s1 and s2)
Please I need help for the interpretation of these results/code and how I will sort out these problems.
Thank you all in advance.

The other two are sensors, the p0304 1 and 2 are the cylinders that are misfiring, most likely it's a dead ignition coil, make sure to only buy oem denso parts, any other coils and you will still get a CEL. Good luck!
