Has anyone removed the seat cushion to access the heated seat element beneath it? I need to replace the heating element on the driver's side. Do you have to remove the entire seat from within the car or can you somehow remove only the seat cushion to access the element?

I have replaced both elements. I believe the whole seat has to come out, because you have to remove the upholstery from the cushion with the bad element. The seat really isn't that hard to remove -- 4 bolts and some electrical connectors. You can do it; it just takes a while.

You're also going to need a hog-ring pliers and some hog rings, too.
