Default Release A New Rx, Or One Of These Options?

MY 99' rx lease is up, im debating getting a new 2002 rx, or soemthing else like, an infinty qx4, bmw x5 6cylnder, acura mdx, and even looked at crazy possibilites of a porsche boxster and cadillac escalade ext.
unfortunatly i would really like to stay around the same lease price per month. so i am very limited. what do you guys recommend. what truck should i get or look into.

also other problems is the rx is an old design, im so bored with it, not much change for 2002 or 2003. id hate to get into the same truck for another 3 years. ????

Test drive an X5 3.0i and see how you like it. Try the regular and sport package. The X5 starts at about $39k. I'm sure it has many problems but if you can put up with them it's one of the best handling SUV's and looks great too. Not much cargo room - but going from the RX the space isn't that much different.

check out the X5 forum at http://www.bimmer.org if you want.

gotta agree with Lex. i like the X5. i was buggin my mom to change, but she liked her car, and she really doesn't like the bmw repair jobs. i know a guy with a 740iL and he sends it in like every few months for some random problem. but if you can handle the expenses for repairs, then the X5 would be a great car. ahh... BMW HID's...

the X5 is nice but it's still a BMW and like everyone said it doesn't have good repair record... Check out the Infiniti Qx4, fully fully loaded it's like 42k, but those things are just beautiful inside and out IMO, it's a pretty good size too

yea the x5 i didnt like too much, the inside looks cheesy, but it is a nice truck overall. and the qx4 i priced and even drove but it just doesnt do it for me, some nice features the rx doesnt have but it cant outweigh the great rx. i was thinkin i should just go with a black rx with chrome rims fully loaded excpet nav. then i can put some aftermarket stuff like chrom brush guards and tail lgiht gaurds, new grill and some other chrome accents from rod millin. oh and maybe a full wood kit. or should i forgfet all that after market stuff and get the navigation option. ????

Personally, I'd go with nav. You can always save up for aftermarket stuff later on.

You're trying to find an SUV to live up the the RX...and it's not working?!? That sounds about right

They're hack jobs. Someone's idea of a redesigned RX. We haven't seen the real deal yet. Lexus is VERY secretive about their new model designs, even close to production. All we know for sure is production for the new RX will begin in 2003 at its new plant in Canada.

LEXRX, thanks for the info. i knew they were photoshopped but just thought that was a close design to the new thing, in my opinion both those pics are gross. what are they doin to the rx. yuck. ok another question for u, is there any change at all for the 2003 rx compared to the 2002 rx's that are out. (or are just the 2001 rx's out) and not the 2002's yet. wow now im geting myself confused.

Whuzza

No, really, I gotcha. The 2002's are currently out. What I think (I emphasize think because I can't say for sure) is that the redesigned RX will be built beginning in 2003 as a 2004 model. Possibly coming out around August - October of '03.

Dont Get a Pathfinder, uh I mean QX4..

I would stick with the RX especially if I were getting NAV, (The touch screen is awsome)but the X5 is somthing to consider.

Im going to have the same promblem as you are next year when mine goes back.
