Door Locks

I don't own an RX, it's my DIL's, I'm only the mechanic for the car but I think you may find instructions in the owners manual as to how to reprogram them to operate the way you want them to. There is a possibility that if you remove the battery cable for about 20 min., if it has a different default, it may automatically reset to that. That's my best suggestion.

I don't know that to be one of the options that you can change, mine does not do that. If you can, it will be under the C-Best settings and only a dealer can make changes (which sucks).

Door Locks
I can unlock the doors on my 2002 RX with the remote. However if I don't open a door or push the unlock button again after 30 seconds the doors will re-lock.
Must be a feature that can only be reprogrammed by the dealer to allow more delay before an automatic re-lock.
I don't know why this auto re-lock is a feature that Lexus provided but it doesn't bother me that much because I most always open a door before the auto re-lock feature kicks in.

I think another reason for this protection is to keep people from sweeping parking lots with numerous codes and then coming by to see which cars have been unlocked. Or, possibly accidental signals unlocking the car by mistake.
