Talking Aloha - new RX-300 owner

Aloha everyone,
I used to have a 1998 Acura Integra, but I just HAD to add to the number of those cars stolen in the states (thanks to the "local Hawaiian club"). Anyway, some nine hours after I originally called 911, I received a call from HPD informing me that my car had not only been stripped, but torched as well. GEICO was pretty fast with settling the claim, and with their check, I was able to purchase a 2002 RX-300 outright.
Man oh man, this is a wonderful vehicle !!! I'm not really the "hard-core" off-road type. In fact, I never really go off-road, so it's good, as the RX-300 wasn't really designed to go too far off-road. I was really surprised by the smooth, silky feel of the SUV as I test-drove it that first day. Parking will be a little interesting for the next few days (it's just a tad wider than my old Integra), but I really look forward to breaking myself into the new vehicle.
I just wanted to say a big ALOHA to everyone and ask myself why it took me so long to get around to purchasing a Lexus.

Welcome to CL whjones. Sorry about the Integra...wait...no I'm not. Boy, did a silver lining ever come through that dark cloud of yours I think you've just begun a long, expensive relationship with Lexus Stick around and you'll get mod-fever.

yo man, you haven't seen WIDE turning ratio. but anyways. my friend crashed his car and got one of those ugly trailblazer's for his rental, and a few friends and i took it out for a spin. we tested the turning radius, dang it turns fast, but HOLY COW does it have a LOT of bosy roll. we made a 90 degree turn on another street and it felt like if we went any faster, we would have tipped over. anyways, a larger turning radius isn't always that bad. at least it keeps the RX on it's wheels, not it's side.

Thumbs up

Shonuff,

Both KBay and Pearl City are easily within RX-300 driving distance I'm in Waikiki, right near the Convention Center.

Welcome to the board dude.

Quite a windfall to be able to trade up from an Integra to a Lexus. Thats one hell of an insurance company or you got a great deal on the Lex. Either way, good luck with it.

You didn't happen to get a Nav system did ya? I always wondered if Hawaii was included in the mapping software.

The nav only covers the contiguous United States and major cities in Canada.

my friend just moved to pearl city from around that area........off of kapiolani blvd....by the blaisdell.
