Guys,
Here is the latest on my 2000 Rx. My daughter has been using the Rx for a couple of weeks now, and every time that she turns off the engine, the hoods open. Do you have any idea? Cable is too tight? There is no CEL light on.
Thanks

CEL has to do with mostly Emission.
Hood release is mechanical link with cable. Check how sensitive the release lever is.
The engine some what floats in the engine bay [on engine mounts].
I can not think of any reason why the hood release will have a connection with the engine shut off.
If you ever find out, please post.

Just a thought, but is she opening it by mistake when she starts the car? A lot of cars I've been in have had the parking brake release where the hood release is in the RX300. Stepping on the parking brake to engage and release it isn't the intuitive thing to do.

Burn,
That could be possible, probably she is leting her boyfriend drive, and he is the one how pops up the hood without knowing it. I checked everything yesterday, the cable, no tree leaves or wood on the side of the hood. I'll keep it posted.
Thanks for your help
