Ok guys I put up a photoshop request the the Photoshop forum but I wanted to get RX owner feedback on what my buddy wants to do to his Black '01 RX..
He wants to put 19" Work Seeker CX wheels (See picture below) on his RX..
Specs on the wheels are as follows:
19x8.5 f+r, +30 offset, 87mm/~3.45" lip
Anyone think he is crazy.. His beef with the RX is he wants to butch it up a bit.. Tired of folks telling him he bought a "chick" car.. LOL

The wheels size my create a problem, unless he uses spacers to clear the strut - mainly the rear struts. A nice lip will look good ![Cool](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
Wider tires/wheels do make the RX look much better, just take a look at Obidon's RX. I would suggest going no wider than 8in. IMHO, the best combo to "butch" up the RX would be 18in wheels with 255/55's.
Good choice in wheels, those look good. That type of wheels design is growing on me. Maybe he should also consider some side tubes like Manik. That'll help the look too.

With a 20mm offset you could go to 8.5 in wide on a 18 inwheels and still clear the strut in the back. It starts to flare out as it goes up from there so the 255x55 tire is as tall of a tire you can put on a 18 in wheel. you could go to a lower profile tire and get a wider foot print but you would also lower the RX in the process. On a 19in wheel the 20mm offset is still going to be the rule. 35mm is to much offset to clear the strut in the back. As the offset gets larger in number say from 20mm to 35mm it moves the rim of a given wheel into the wheelwell more, and closer to the struts. I have about 1in from my rear wheel rim to the strut in the back on my 18in wheel, so a 19in or 20in with a 20mm offset will work with a 8.5 but will only leave you with 1/2in clearance to the rear strut. Hope this helps

Thanks guys for all the input..
The wheel specs came directly from Work via gs4will so i'll have to ask him if the offset is correct.. I'm pretty sure it will be all good thou..
He already has chrome side bars and that front end brush guard stuff.. Looks nice IMO and gives the RX a more manly look as he likes to call it.. LOL
ObiDon,
Do you have pictures of your RX.. Would love to see how it looks.. Probably in the gallery but i'm too lazy to look..

2SAVVY, you lazy son of a...j/k
Here is a link to Obidon's Photo's Page
and
A Thread with a good picture of Shonuff's RX with 18's. You can see from the second picture in that thread how much better the RX looks with the wider 255's.
Shonuff had some other pictures uploaded in the gallery, but they have mysteriously disappeared

ObiDon,
Very nice setup.. Hope you don't mind but I sent the side view picture to my buddy so he can get a general idea of how new wheels would look on his RX.. I have to get that boy to logon to CL and join so he can ask all the questions he wants.. Oh well..
