RX300 Navi?
I have a 2000 RX 300 with NO navi and am looking to put one in. Has anyone done a Lexus navi or is that way too much trouble? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it's been done before. Here's a link to one of the installations with pics, you can find more by using the search.

Look at the cost of retrofitting. RX300 navi units are at least 1 if not 2 gen old. You can get lot better and newer stand-alone navi, which would walk with with you. Most models are now without wires (for couple of hours) and can be updated at fractional cost. Retrofitting will be a sunk cost.
The down side is the lack of integrated look and feel.

Thanks guys. Yeah, that lexus navi looks really nice in there. i'm not crazy about the standalone nav units but i think the price may dictate my choice here. approx 1500-1700 for lexus navi and 3-400 for standalone...
would either of you or anyone else for that matter care to chime in an what standalone navi's they think are the best???

Your probably better off getting a standalone navi because they are much cheaper as you know. It'll only set you back $150 not 3-400! TomTom, Garmin are the one's I recommend they work great, and always have signal( well in my case anyways). Make sure it has text to speech or else it won't read the street names and it'll just say "turn right in 100 feet" compared to "turn right onto Roxy Ave, in 100 feet".
