Recheck at Toyota for the 2001 highlander. Somebody told me they have been re-issued. See this posting.
When I look it up it lists a Type A (#35330-0W010) and Type B (#8533021020) the difference is the shape of the screen itself. They both supersede to one part number 35330-06010. That is a different number than I ordered. The 06010 fits various Toyota models. It is used in the 05-07 Highlander 2wd with a 4 cylinder. Hope that helps. Let me know if I can look up anything else for you.

Does any one know why Lexus switched to paper-like transmission filter? Was it driven by cost or flow or level of filteration.

Also for those who have kept the metal screen, how do you clean your filter?
