Front motor mount replacement
I have an issue i hope someone can answer for me. I need to replace my front motor mount. The mount i received is not the hydraulic type, rather it is the rubber kind. How do i go about replacing this. What do i do with the hose going to the current mount. Can i use this mount? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

No need to jack up the vehicle.
Looks like it might clear it from the bottom. I don't have a mount in front of me so I can't gauge the size of it if it will clear.
But if it doesn't, the radiator will have to come out for the mount to clear.
Also you might need to move some oil lines that are in the way(not sure if it will clear)
My sugg. is to take the top(dog bone) mount off because you will have to jack the motor up so the mount will clear.
As for the uneeded vaccum line, just plug it.

The front mount is easier to get to from the top front of the vehicle. The only bolt I had a problem with was the top center, 17mm bolt. The internals of the mount, along with the bolt tend to move in the same direction when trying to loosen it. It took a few times, you need to be quick and use a good amount of torque to get it loose. Also, I removed the oil filter to make this process easier. I also used a 1/2 socket extension, so the rachet would be above the engine frame. Hope this helps.

I cannot seem to find a hydraulic mount anywhere. many places say they have them but when i receive them they are just the rubber kind. I even tried my local lexus dealer and no dice. Anyone have any ideas where i can purchase one online. I have tried everywhere and am getting frustrated looking. thanks I have heard that the rubber mounts dont solve the vibration issue, can anyone verify whether this is true or not.

I ordered all my mounts on www.parts.com, for my 99 RX I paid $380 for all the mounts. Just the front one was 106.78 and shipping is like $10 bucks or something like that. Ordering through parts.com, ships through Lexus of Tampa Bay. So if you have any questions on part #'s or order numbers, I call them and they are always friendly to help. I don't understand the problem your having with your local lexus dealer.

Sorry for bumping an old thread. I've been trying to replace the front motor mount and i got everything loose, but i can't seem to maneuver the mount out between the exhaust manifold and radiator fans. It definitely wont come out from the bottom as space is really restricted. I lifted the engine about 2 inches with my engine bar but still not enough room to remove it. any suggestions?
