I've had good results with the K&N high-flow air filter. Look in the Engine/Transmission Section of this RX 300 forum for more info.

Mario, can you be more specific?? You can't normally expect to achieve EPA numbers; rule of thumb is about 10% less, both "highway" and "city".
My wife's 99 AWD without roof rack has lifetime average of 17.2 mpg of mostly suburban miles. Some do a little better. But you might want to calculate the difference in cost to run 15 mpg vs 20 mpg assuming, say, 12k miles/year at $1.50/gal. Hint: it's not very much.
