Unhappy RX300 front passenger side window lift broke

Hi, Please assist in what the solution is for the passenger side window would not go down. The glass bends forward. I opened the door panel. I saw the bolt which holds the window glass with a plastic grip is broken where its held with the bolt. Can I buy an new piece to replace the grip which hold the window or can I use a glue which would put together the 2 plastic pieces so the window can go up and down.

Please assist it is very hard to use the window by always pushing it down carefully.

Thanks

Are you talking about these pieces right here?

I'm not certain what they call these pieces (perhaps someone else can assist me here as I don't have a parts diagram).

However, I'd have to figure these pieces would not be that expensive even if you got it from a Lexus dealer (perhaps under $10 or even $5 per piece) and they'd have the diagram there with them.

Yes, this is the one I mean. the picture says thousand words. so, I can get these from Lexus. Right. Ok I will call them today to ask if they have in stock. Bytheway, how do one has to install them. I checked it. It is like hard rubber and would not even peel.
Thanks for your response

I'm not even sure on this. I had to recall from memory and my photos and even took a look at the service manual. I couldn't locate an actual part number or anything related, however I know Lexus could pull this up in their part computer and you could point at those pieces at the bottom. I'd be amazed if they only come with the window itself, but I'd have to gather it would have to be under $10 a piece.

After market may be another option. Call the auto glass company.

Guess what, I called Lexus the parts dept said the piece in the bottom of the window is part of the window. I need to put new window in and the cost is $400. I said that way high and I pay that much for a windshield. He said the windshield is $1050. I said that you for the help and hung up.

So I guess I need a new window. Please inform if anyone else have any other idea about the piece that holds the window to the track bar. Also, is there anyway to glue to stick those two broken parts together cus the replacement is expensive. I will call the junk yard to see if they have one for less.

Thanks for your response people. I know I can alway count of my Lexus Family for help.

You should be able to find the window at a junkyard for less than $100

He could probably find that piece for other vehicles and it's got to be similar. It is just basically a plastic piece with a hole.

Here's other pictures I took from my DIY window thread,

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...r-removal.html

I guarantee you if this happened to me and I couldn't get a similar replacement., I'd be going over to Home Depot and looking at plastic pieces after having measured the original piece (or bringing it with me) and making something that would fit the bill.

I think those tabs are glued on and can be sourced by a window/body shop too.

I checked with glass company they said those tabs are sealed in and can not be removed and glued backed on. I need a new window. Will have to check the junk yards.
Will follow up later.

Default Window problem

There is always the possibility of using some aluminum extrusions and designing and building the piece, then use epoxy to attach.

Another though would be to use a block of high quality hard plastic and making the part.

Either method may take some time but you would save the cost of a window.
