New Toy (Sequoia)
Weo traded our '92 Previa with 165,000 miles for a new Sequoia Limited. Lot of room for our trips with wife 2 teens and our dog. Does not drive like a big truck, quick response. My RX is giving me a funny look..

Ohh yeah, that's looks exactly like the one I'm looking for. Looks great in silver! We are looking for a Silver Sky Limited 4x4 with side curtain airbags, and all kinds of other goodies. Safety is one of the main features of this SUV...to me at least. I've heard great things about the ride and drive.
The difficult part has been to locate a Silver Limited without the spoiler. Almost all of them come with it. To make things worse, dealers don't sell many 4x4 Sequoias here in the southeast (compared to the 4x2).
BUT, I have a dealer that has finally located me one that is on it's way to the port. I've had a couple other dealers tell me there wasn't one around w/o a spoiler and none coming in (that they could see) in the secondary allocation. Well, I FOUND ONE BUDDY!
Now I working on getting the price down. I've already been quoted a price (on this particular one I found) for a little over 3k under MSRP. I'm shooting for more and know I can get it. I was already quoted a price (on one I didn't want) for 4600 under MSRP.
Obidon - if you don't mind me asking how you did on pricing. How much under MSRP - I don't need to know how much you paid. PM if you want - if you don't want to say I understand.
Finally, have you heard of anything being changed for the 2003 model year. If anything, it will be minor things.
Oh, and, do you have any more pics. The Sequoia is one great SUV - the biggest Toyota EVER

We special ordered this one, only took 3weeks. Limited 4x2 (Texas is soooo flat), side curtain airbags, in JBL dash 6cd changer auto dim mirror, pin stripe, sun roof .We knocked off things like the ‘shade’ cover for the back, glass etching, etc. and got it for $500 over invoice. This is much better than when they first came out. I am also seeing a lot more of them around. We then added an Audiovox DVD/TV with Drop-down screen and wireless headphones. I can listen to the radio while they watch movies. We take some long trips mainly to Florida and this will be a lot safer than the old Previa. Saved about $600 by not using the dealer on that one. Tinted the front glass to match the back, and saved $100 by not using the dealer for that.

Wow, only three weeks, that's quick! I was told I could special order and it would take 8-12 weeks  If I knew for sure I could get it done in three We'd would go for for sure.
Yeah, pricing is much more flexible now than when they first came out. Plus, the 2003's are not out yet, but soon will be. So, the dealers will be looking to discount the 2002's.
I noticed that there is a $1k DVD entertainment option on the list, but like you said it would be just as good to have one installed after the fact. Plus, you can choose what you want to put in. Probably won't need that though - I'm the youngest of 5 kids, and I'm 20 My parents will have a serene trip alone the entertainment unit ...no more kids to haul around.
As kids we had an '89 Chevy full size conversion van to travel in. We had the t.v., vcr, and headphones. THAT, my friend, is a parents best friend b/c when we weren't quiet watching a movie we were talking (which meant fighting ) Money well spent.
I hope you enjoy your new SUV. I know you will...it's an excellent vehicle!

I use the same folks that the highend dealers use for the tint and DVD, it's not to hard to find who that is. I like to get face time with anyone who is going to work on my stuff, and then i get dealer prices or better. I have not heard anything about changes for '03, but I needed it for our summer trips. So far 1 week old 13mpg but on regular. I have been told that the different hp listings between the Sequioa and Lexus with the same engine is because of the fuel used.
