I've never heard of "sticking" in a CV axle. Just play, and that is usually obvious, either through the clunking sound when you put it in gear, or from inspection.
Sorry, I should have said, is the outer piece of the long left axle the same as the other side. The long piece connects to the inner CV joint , so I am wondering if the section from thr inner CV joint to the outer is the same for both sides.
Based on the age of the model and expected life after the repair I would highly suggest to just purchase aftermarket shafts. If you insists on building/repairing piece by piece, visit your local parts store or check out the online Lexus retailers [such as Lexus of South Atalanta etc].
