kicking. early trany failure?
i was driving today and getting going, in first gear, my car would sometimes kick, as if i had dumped it into gear with my foot on the throttle. is this early signs of serious transmission problems if daily driven? my car has 114,xxx and going.

I'd also check the IACV valve as that can give a similar feeling when too much air gets rammed into the intake manifold.

Sound like tranny is about to fail.
My car had this same problem. You can extend the life by easy off the gas when you feel it rev up like that but it sound like its on its way out. Mine lasted another 6000 miles like that before failing with 206K miles on it.

I agree with Lexmex, the IACV valve can do that. Give that a cleaning, and while your in there clean the throttle body and the MAF sensor.
Also, pull the battery cables to reset the system. And, let us know if it's still doing it.
