That question may run better in our sister forum, Generation Two, where more may have lived with both.

I just know Gen One turning was 'poor' and heard it was improved later.

it was improved but its going to cost you alot more price difference. The disc read error means the computer is dead. You can get a new computer that is actually gen 4 which makes your navigation compared to gen 3 which came in your year.

for 600 bucks and it is very easy to swap. Just plug and play in the rear near the spare tire. So that thing going out and getting a price reduction actually helped you out...see if they will drop it a little more...go about doing that by asking how much a new computer is there...its a few gs which is why they dont want to swap it for you.

I would jump on that if there are no other issues.
