Default Problems After Removing Battery

My RX300 had been sitting a long time and the battery discharged pretty far. I had the battery recharged for the purposes of testing it. When I put it back in the car I heard a relay going crazy. I realized the alarm light on the inside was blinking and I was unable to start the car. When I attached some jumpers I was able to hear the alarm going off. Is there a special procedure that I am supposed to follow when installing a batter for the first time? If not, could a poor battery that is very low on power cause the alarm to go off?

With so much elctronics, a good battery is needed. First ensure you have a fully charged battery and have it load tested. The installation should be done in a one firm and decisive action and you want to minimize arcing/chattering etc.

Once a good battery is connected, you may need to reset window pinch protection, seat and mirrors as well as radio presets.

If that battery is fully "charged" then it is shot. Pop in a new battery and you will be good to go. Like salimshah said, you may have to reset some stuff like auto windows etc.
