Default PO171 and P0174 = Mass Air Flow Meter?

Hi gang, I'm having the always bubbly P0171 and P0174 codes. My mechanic is convinced I need a mass air flow meter. Does that make any sense? From all I've heard here, it's supposed to be the Air Fuel sensor(s)
After disconnecting the battery, and pulling the second fuse (Lexmex, you know what I'm talking about :-) ) The CEL and VSC still come up after ~30 miles.

In some cases it can be the MAF sensor, it's better to have tried cleaning it first. They can get dirty and cause a cel light to go off.
Here's a DIY:

Thanks, that I had planned on doing but never did. I'll go buy the cleaner now and give it a try. I will post results as I put mileage. Thank you!

Nah, no dice, the lights came back up after 15 miles. Is it really the Mas Air Flow sensor that needs replacement with those codes?
