Default water level sensor access

Anyone know how windshield washer fluid level sensor is connected to the washer reservoir? Does it just pull out or is it threaded. I've heard it can be replaced via the hole in the front bumper (2000 Rx300), but I need to know this info so I don't break anything.
Also, will I need any new gaskets or anything else to accomplish this?
