I wouldn't get too excited about the AliBaba unit until you've used it with your changer and know for sure that it works with the claimed functionality.

Default GROM works!

Hi all,
I finally took a risk and ordered GROM USB. I received it two days ago and today installed it into my 1999 RX300. It works!!!
I connected it at the connector in the glove box. The stereo recognizes the unit as the CD changer and I am able to listen to my music on thumb drive.
I actually bought the 2GB thumb drive at GROM website for $5.99, very decent price.
The music quality is really good. Let me test it for a few days and hopefully it will continue to work. They also have 30 days warranty just in case.
I also took some pictures of the install that I will post shortly.

MVLEX, are you sure that Alibaba unit will work on RX? I have read a mixed reviews about such units.

Grom audio contacted me and offered me to try a new firmware which i did but no avail. But yesterday i decided to try the unit again but this time i disconnected the head unit before i plug the grom unit, and it work!!!!
So for those who have problems with radio not detecting "cd" just unplug the radio before you connect the grom audio and that should work.

I'm going to call alberto from grom audio which was very very helpful during this streesful situation.

Im going to post a d.i.y. For those who want to install the grom unit.
I think is so cool to have all your favorite music at the tip of your finger
(my wife has her own usb too... She's Loves it too..).
Specially if you live in the ny/nj area... Al the radio station put the same damn song over and over..... Where i come from they called that "payola"
some radio station get paid under the table for playing the same songs.
