Default Exhaust pipe replacement - dry or wet fit?

I am going to replace the exhaust pipe that has a flexible section. I got the OEM fit pipe from RockAuto along with seals for both ends. My question is do I dry fit the seals (hope the compress will force the seals to seal) or wet fit the seals with some high-temp silicon sealant before putting them on. If wet fit, what type sealant to use for the best?

Thank you.

Lexus exhaust that I worked on was on a GS. If I recall correctly, the gasket came in plastic wrap pre doped.

I dont know if RX gasket comes the same way.

The flex pipe is there to compensate the engine vibration impact.

The engine flexes and vibrates. It is not rigidly connected to the body. [and so does the transmission]. The flex-pipe relives the stress on the head coupling of the exhaust.

The ring seals that I ordered on RochAuto for the Walker-brand pipe have thin metal sheet holding the seal materials for which I cannot tell what it is by just looking at it. But they are dry for sure.

(How do I insert pictures in this post? I clicked on the Insert Image icon ans was asked to provide URL instead of allowing me to browse for a picture file.)

Here is my try. It supposed to have attached a picture of the seals but the picture doesn't show up in my preview.

OK, the picture of the seals is in the post after submit.

So I guess the conclussion based on the inputs is that these dry seals are compression-sealed and there is no need to put additional wet sealant on them. Is this correct?

chenxinga, Please post any tips learned from your install. How was it getting the front bolts out? Were those bolts welded to the front cat's flange?
