I just changed the cabin air filter using the directions found on the forum. Just a note: I used an aftermarket filter and it fit a bit tight and created a bow up on one side that would let dirty air blow by. I trimed off a sliver of the tab using a heavy duty paper shear. Regular shearers would not work. It now lays flat. Maybe Lexus brand would fit better. This one cost $14. at Federated Auto Parts. Old filter was gross. You should check yours.

I just got my truck about month ago and since i work for a gm dealer all buicks and some gmc trucks use cabin filter so i decided to take a look at mine and i was shocked to see how dirty it was.....i think the original owner didn't know about cabin filters.

Either that or they were shocked by the typical price quote to change it. I know I've been quoted $40-$50 for this 5 minute job.

Don't you just love the Lexus "prices from another world"? 5 min. is allowing for a break! My guess would be they didn't know, unless ALL their maintenance is done at a Lexus dealer. You can bet they wouldn't miss it. I think about 1 & 1/2 % of people read their manual and most drive their car for years and trade it and don't even know about a lot of features or details about the vehicle.
