The other day my battery went dead and my husband had to give me a boost, well the next day I went to pump gas and filled up my display always read 385 miles until empty right, wellt his time that i filled up it only read 295 i think which was wasy off...does this have anyhting to do with the battery goign dead the previous day?

I think that explains it. I replaced my RX300 car battery recently and history all went to zero in the time it look to replace the battery.

Any idea what I would have to do for it to read the correct thing? or is this something the dealer can only do?

It's still reading correctly. What bob2200 was saying is that when the battery was disconnected the car had no power, meaning that all of your setting were forgotten because the ECU doesn't have power to store them in memory. You probably lost your radio presets, memory seat, and clock.

Nothing needs correction/fixed. Your RX has to re-learn what the average miles to a gallon it should expect. So drive for a while and the numbers will start looking close to what you expect.

Ummm... you have an RX/300 that tells you how many miles until empty? Mine doesn't do that (or if it does, I have no idea how to set the display to show it)? I don't have navigation -- just the big blue screen.

My RX (2001) does not either, is this a special feature I wonder .. ? My favourate info is "E/T" .

I apologiz i mean to post this on the 2gen...but thanks everyone i really appreciate it i had to fuel up today and filled up half a tnk and i got about 186 miles if i remember so if thats the case then it's reading correctly again....

I guess that also explains the comment "my display always read 385 miles" ... full tank in RX300 does not average that high
