Strange sound when a/c is on?

Strange sound when a/c is on?
When I clicked the a/c on in the car yesterday the pump sounded funny...as if something was scraping or grinding inside of it 
Do any of you guys get a wierd sound coming out of it?

a/c noise
When I turn on my, it makes a bit louder of the pumping sound of the gear engaging, but I don't have the grinding sound. I know what you are talking about, it happened the same on my 300zx. How old is your car? it could be freon is low, check your freon glass make sure there is no buble when a/c is on. good luck
