Tire pressure gadget
I saw this in my hotmail account this morning and thought I would mention it to y'all... looks pretty interesting.
Yellow means your tires are at least 4 pounds under pressure. Red means you're at least 10 pounds under pressure.

How you can tell when your tire is low...
Tried a set of these some years ago - accuracy left a great deal to be desired. When 4-5 lbs. will make a fair difference in handling, these things were only accurate to +/- 5 lbs.
Most of these gauges are read by unscrewing the valve cap and allowing the stem to protrude, displaying pressure. Then you replace the cap. What's the advantage over using a regular tire gauge??
Not to mention the life expectancy can be pretty short...the usual failure mode was to develop a leak! Yes, you have a low tire....you can tell by the grinding sound of rim on pavement.

Well, considering the source (spam-mail) I didn't jump at it. Someone stole my caps a long time ago and I haven't replaced them yet. I figured this product is probably shoddy. . . and it's obviously not very accurate.
I have a tire pressure gauge like the one mechanics use... just pops up. I'm pretty happy with that.
Thanks!

I saw those buggers on a commecial last night
around 1:00am EST for $19.95. Feh..
I've wanted one of those digi-gauges. I've used the same
pencil gauge for 15 years, It's been in the glove box of 5
different cars, including my RX.
Consumer Reports rates:
Digital #1 - Accutire MS-4020B (Got this one, Nick?)
Pencil style #1 - NAPA 90-389

I have the Accutire MS-4000GB. It has the little black case that I keep it in. I will never go back to the one's that pop out. You can find the MS-4000GB many places. Accutire allows it to be co-branded. if you want to pay more you can buy it at Brookstone

Just picked up the MS4420 for only $9.99 at BJ's Wholesale Club. This is the diecast metal model!
You can see it here http://www.autofanatics.com/digtirgaug.html
I too used a pencil gauge for years... have it in the glovebox... guess what? It's off by 2 psi... which greatly affects ride comfort in a stock RX300. Found out I was running at 32 -34 psi, which definitely stiffens up the ride on the Integricraps... the ride was so different I though there was something wrong with the struts or suspension... lowered the air pressure to Lexus specs of 30psi and all is well.
In my experience, everytime I take a car into ANY dealer (GM, Nissan, Lexus), they tend to overfill the tires... I always check em after I get the car back

I just picked up an Accutire MS-4000 for $16.99 at Sears Auto Center. IMHO, a pretty good price .
Reg price $27.99 with $11.00 off. Call your Sears Auto Center today. See if you can get this price.
