Glad it worked out for you tyberco. I have taken mine out and cleaned it before too. To be honest, I haven't replaced it since I bought the RX

My filter mainly collects dust and small leaf-like debris. My a/c still works great vented or on recycled mode.

LexRX, yes tks for the pics, I put this off until I saw your great shots of the process. I am going to try washing first then replacing with Filtrete or equivalent with similar airflow through that filter depth.
