My 02 RX came with 2 Remote keys, and they both work.

I also got a wallet key and a valet key. On the valet key's key ring was a small metal tag with 5 numbers. I registered those numbers with Lexus. If I need a key, I just contact Lexus with the numbers and they provide a progammed remote key.

You don't have the small metal tag? Check your paperwork and see if the key number is written anywhere.

Is there anyway to get one of those "switchblade" keys for the RX? Or do you have to stick with the keys made by Lexus?

On ebay you can buy an uncut blank for $75 which can then be laser cut and programmed to work with your vehicle!

If you lost one of yours master keys with keyless entry do you have to get new two keys and computer or you can take to dealer so it can be programed to add new keyless to the computer ?

This question goes back to my earlier post...My RX 300 keys came with a small metal tag with 5 numbers. I registered those numbers with Lexus. If I need a key, I just contact Lexus with the numbers and they provide a progammed remote key. Check your paperwork for this number or contact Lexus with the VIN

I thought I key still needs to be programmed by dealer
after Lexus made the key from the metal tag number.

Please clarify.

Thanks.

Your dealer does all the work. I guess my description was vague or misleading. You can provide the number on the metal tag to the dealer, and your dealer makes the key.
