I'm having problems with my third brake light. I'm thinking of just taking the whole thing out and replace it with an LED strip or assembly of some sort. Has anyone done this? If so, which LED assembly did you install? Were there are problems? And what about the burned-out bulb sensor -- was the new LED assembly compatible?

Seriously impressive work in that other thread, but outside my capabilities. I'm hoping for something a little more "plug-and-play," even if I have to add a resistor to counter the burned-out bulb notification.
