Correct fuse for headlights on a 99?
My daughter's headlights on her 99 RX300 went out yesterday (in college, out of state, of course!); the side marker lights work. Since both headlights went out at the same time, I suspect a fuse. The fusebox diagrams and photos I have found on this forum show later models with HID headlights, apparently. The dealer told me the 99 shouldn't have a relay because the lights aren't HID. He thinks the fuse would be 20A (#90982-09011, according to him). I sent along spare 30, 40, and 50A fuses when she went off to school along with the smaller blade-type fuses, but I don't know what she's going to need. I know the bulb part numbers in case she needs new bulbs, but does anyone have any ideas? I don't know if the high beams are working or not, but I'm guessing not. Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the reply! I haven't talked to her again yet, but I know the low beams are both out. She found out because she was stopped by the police -- driving in town, I guess she didn't notice they weren't working. I'm guessing they both quit at the same time. I'll have her try the high beams and see if I can find out a little more info. I thought someone with a '99 might know what fuses are involved, just in case that's the problem.

the shop manual to see what I can come up with.

Both of my low beams went out within a couple of days of each other. I too thought it might be a fuse but the fuses were fine. The bulbs are a little difficult to get at and remove from their holders so she may not be able to change them herself.

I had replaced both low beam bulbs together a couple of years ago, so I guess it stands to reason they could fail together. She was able to change the "D" indicator bulb in the dash without a problem, but that was a little cleaner job, and in warmer weather!
