Question Locked Keys In Car

I own a 1999 RX300. I accidentally locked my keys in my car. My spare key is not with me because I am out of town. I have heard that locksmiths cannot get into lexuses. Does anyone know if this is true?

First call the nearest Leuxs dealership, they can suggest the best course of action or get you in touch with the locksmith with right tools and know-how.

Default Locksmith Entry -Yes, but

When my RX300 was still new I had a similar problem. At a friend's pool party, someone else picked up my keys (accidentally) and left with them.

By the time we found out what happened, it was really late, going on midnight. I had the valet key hidden inside the car for such an emergency, but couldn't get at it.

I called AAA and explained what kind of car, and they checked with a locksmith, explaining that I thought it had anti-theft cable actuated locks that will re-re-re...-lock, and asked if they could get it open. They found a locksmith with the right kind of tool for the car.

It took a lot of patience and an extra hand (mine) to open the car but the locksmith did get it open. He followed some directions he had and popped the lock (which continually tries to re-lock itself by pulsing a lock command from the Lexus security, all the while sounding the horns). What worked was he had me pull the handle when he pulled the lock rod open - it took many tries to get the timing right because they keep relocking, and voila! it finally opened without a scratch. But it probably woke the whole neigborhood, with the horns blazing away. I thought the cops would be showing up (never did).

Just be sure to explain to the locksmith what kind of car so they can be prepared with the long tool, and proper instructions. Good luck!
