Mercedes dealership on East coast, had a service plan that they would come out and pick your Merc from home to perform maintenance. Once they took the car and had a wreck on the way to the shop. They came back and told my friend's family ... we are sorry, we will help as much as we can, but YOU need to get in touch with YOUR insurance company. The dealership driver is/was an authorized driver.
I am sure there are more stories about valet drivers etc.

I really feel you pain! :-(
I agree with the others that the damage doesn't look that bad.
One thing I would highly suggest is that the body shop uses OEM parts. I know that you have done several mods, and used souped-up aftermarket parts. But the body is something that I would insist on OEM. And if they won't pony up for that, if it is ok with you, go for OEM parts from a junker.
I've never driven in a 330. I have driven in a 350 & 400h, and even though the 300 doesn't have all the bells & whistles of the 2nd & 3rd generation models, I feel that the 300s one day will be "classics", and it would truly be a shame to see another one be taken off the road -- especially by someone who takes so much pride in his car.
Best of luck, and keep us posted!

One more thing... I can't tell if your passenger headlight is shot (although it probably is). When the adjuster comes in, make sure that the body shop knows that these are OEM lights from the 2001-03 model year. I'm sure your shop knows enough, but I'm sure that the insurance company will be working off the VIN...

Major bummer, man! In contrast to the other opinions, above, that looks more like $7000-$10000 of damage (depending on what's going on behind the front grill). The body shops have a pretty good idea what the insurance companies will pay so it sounds good at this point (I'm guessing the car is worth $13000-$15000, so they won't total it).
Good luck!

you know you love the 330! looks sharp w/ ur chromies...too bad you didnt keep you rx300 16s, you would have a set of 330 wheels on hand to sell to someone on here. I regret not taking my parts off my 300...dealership seemed oblivious to any of the "upgrades" such as a gen 4 computer, rx330 wheels, and a coach grille.
