My beautiful '01 is wrecked.
I took it to the shop this morning to get the Weapon R and the clear corners installed and they brought me home in it and it was wrecked on the way back to the shop. I haven't seen the car but it was hit in the front, I'll know more later.
I can't give too many details until the insurance thing is settled, I'll try to get pics later. Crap, I'm going to go look at 330s on eBay.

Thank you all for your kind comments, I'm going to try to save it if possible. The bags didn't deploy so that gives me hope. The garage said in their view it is not totaled but it will be next week before their insurance has a look at it.
At worst, I can save my wheels, armrests and new muffler and put them on a 330 or 350. The headlights are goners anyway. I'll try to get some pics this afternoon.

I agree, it doesn't look that bad.
I had a similar marginal accident years ago on my old Mercedes-Benz. The other insurance company (State Farm) agreed to the repairs. When they got deeper into the repair, they found additional damage that exceeded the book value of the car. The car only had a $4,500 book value back in 1993. I paid the difference and got it repaired. When totaled, they don't let you remove anything. The rental car stopped immediately when I said I would not take the totaled payment.

No, I don't play soccer!
Headlights look intact but it still hurts to see it in that condition. I'm sure your RX will look great again, whether it be the 300 or maybe a 330/350. Good luck.

I talked to the insurance company and they plan to repair the car. There doesn't appear to be any mechanical damage other than the fan pushed in. They told me to get it towed to my body shop Monday and the appraiser will look at it there to confirm the work.
The body shop is the one who did my sister's 57 T-Bird and they do know what they are doing. I'm going to have the undercladding painted as well since both bumpers will have to be repainted anyway. I'm shooting for the whole car from the belt down.
The garage will make any required mechanical fixes to get it back where it was but with all white paint, clear corners and the damn Weapon R installed.
Sis's T-Bird...
...and I got a nice 400LS loaner.
