Anyways..I just bought my Gold 2003 rx300 in April. And Its still hard to believe it mine when I wake up every morning, look out the window and see it sitting there, Far from being the rich type..I just saved up a nice sum of money and put a nice Deposit down on it. Considering I have been driving a 90 S-10 Blazer that has 170 thousand Miles on it..I figured i should get something that would ride nice on the turnpike when i visit my family back in Pittsburgh. I live in Philly now and work for a Company called Pindar Set.

Just bought our RX-330 3 weeks ago...
Had a '99 RX-300 and replaced it with an Acura MDX (sorry, I learned my lesson also...) now have come back to the BEST!
Also bought an '03 IS-300 on the same day.
My wife drives the RX, I get the IS...

Lexus vs Acura
I'm a life-long Honda person also...
I've owned 4 Hondas (Prelude, 3 Civics) and 2 Acuras (MDX and CL-S) and my son has a Civic Si now. I am a Honda fan and have always felt that they build the "most reliable vehicles on the planet"... Until I drove my first Lexus.
That said, we moved from the MDX to the 330 for the reasons you outlined. It's a much more luxurious ride, handles better, and is a smaller vehicle... Not so much like driving a truck! We only used the 7 person seating in the MDX twice... Also, the sport suspension on the RX-330 makes it AWESOME in the handling department. We just like the style and appearance MUCH better! We went from a RX-300 to the MDX and are glad we saw our mistake!
I also opted to go from the CL-S to the IS 300 for most of the same reasons. The IS-300 is smaller, handles better, is rear wheel drive, and looks SWEET! The CL-S was quick off of the line, but not much else. Sure, it was nice, but not a real eye catcher...
I'm not really into pushing the performance of either of the Lexus' as I have a 500HP Twin Turbo Dodge Stealth (built by Mitsubishi) that I drive when I want performance. It'll stomp just about anything on the road as it's AWD!
I like the Lexus vehicles because they are very well built, they look AWESOME, and they are very well handling comfortable rides...
Sorry for the long winded explination.

Mr RX300 checking in :)
Hey again all...thanks for the welcome to the few that wrote back.
First I am in the Ambler PA area....Horsham Township to be exact for those who asked what area I am from.
Just out of curiousity is everyone happy with the cargo room in their RX's?? I had a few people
criticize mine cause there was much room in the back and all...I was like what am I supposed to
be hauling a family of 10??? Is it just me or do I sense a little jealously that they just had to find
something negative to say about it.........well screw them.....i bought the car mainly for looks and
dependability. As far as I am concerned I spent my money wisely...or should I say....the "loan" wisely.
Later all
mike

Air Force Pilot
I'm in the reserves and fly refueling aircraft. My wife is an occupational therapist. I have a 323Ci Bimmer. People think we're wealthy yuppies but I tell them, if you buy your new cars every 5 to 7 years instead of every 2-3, you can "afford" these cars as well. Hey, Pilot, who do you work for??? I'll be an old man when I get to the majors at this rate!

I am Bmw technician and have not bought an rx300 yet. I plan on buying one for my wife. The offer more features than a standard X5. Plus I cannot see myself driving a bimmer after seeing all the problems they have.
new to the board,
Aaron

Funny you mention about the X5 having problems. I was actually considering getting one of those before I found out about problems they have with Brakes and rotors. I heard they eat brake pads like water.
And I am sure its not a concidence when I see almost every X5 on the road i noticed the front wheels are like pretty much black from the brake pad dust.....doesn't see like that is a good sign to me. I realize
every car can get like that...but I find it hard to believe so many X5 drivers let there cars go very long without washing them.
I chose the RX300 simply because of the bad ratings the X5 was getting.

Hi everyone!
I'm Information Technology professional (with double degree in biomedical sciences and IT) working in the area of Medical Research IT and Biomedical Informatics.
Just found this forum and very happy with it. I'm planning to get new RX-330 soon and will probably have a bunch of questions to existing owners and enthusiasts. Thank you in advance for your informational support!
