Since you seem to know about Camry and ES300 part similarities ,I have a question for you. Do you think the whole strut assembly from a 94 Camry would fit a 94 ES300 - the shock #'s are same . Need to change struts on my 94 ES300 and have access to 94 Camry for parts.

I go to Rock Auto.com many times and when you find the part, hit the info key and it will tell you all of the applications...The control arm didnt apply, but a member tried it and several of us jumped on the bandwagon...

Bringing this one back to the Gen 1 RX. I am having a similar issue with the knocking / banging sound from the rear. I replaced the Struts and mounts about 3.5 years / 60K miles ago. Did it with KYB everything. Been reading about my problem and it sounds like it is the mounts. I see everyone saying not to use the KYB mounts becasue they are of cheeper quality, but dont really understand how. The rear mounts are basically just rubber. Dealer mounts as i understand it are KYB just like the struts but they cost about 3x what the KYB ones do. Only other thing i heard about KYB mounts were that the berings that came with it were low quality, but the rear mounts dont have bearings so not really sure how they are lower quality. Can anyone provide some additional info? Do you think my issue is the rear mounts and why are KYB bad, woudl be helpful to get real info other than just they are low quiality without support.

Also dont think its the strust because there are no leaks around the struts and car does not bounce or have a floaty ride.

If you are a frequent visitor to this site you may notice that I have frequently posted on this subject. I made the mistake of buying KYB mounts. I held the old OE in one hand and the new KYB in the other and immediately realized a difference in quality but proceeded anyways. Have regretted it every since. Front, rear, doesn't matter - they simply don't fit as well. Having said that, my next project is to replace the sway bar bushings. Perhaps that will reduce the clunking I still feel and hear.

Replacing my sway bar links immediately removed all my knocking and stiffened up the whole driving experience IMMENSELY.

Our sway bar links are a common fault and weak point in our vehicles.

I used MOOG links and they were WAY beefier then OEM. Also having zerk fittings make me happy lol
