Hello, my Rx300's engine blew at christmas. I had our friend mechanic and husband rebuild the engine about 4 or 5 months later. Now the engine seems to be working fine but the tranny is shifting hard on first shift and slipping in second. The computer is still learning but it should have fixed itself by now. The transmission repeats this every time you stop and start.
We hooked it up to the Modis and the transmission isn't saying there is an error. Is there something else that we can try to fix this?

Welcome to the Club.
Perhaps the tranny fluid level is low. I made a similar mistake a few years ago when we refilled the transmission after some work on it and didn't put enough tranny oil in (I read the level right on the stick, but when it said it needed close x amount of liters, it really did need it and I got some jerky issues also from 1st into second.
Another possibility, and the more likely, is that the tranny filter needs changing. Over time, a similar issue will pop up where can also be a jerky shifts,

Another thing, you didn't mention whether you have an AWD or FWD vehicle, but in the case of an AWD, the rear differential and transfer case should get there gear oils changed out at least once every 100K max (I advocate 30K), but for normal driving good synthetics can run out that far, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...sfer-case.html
