Default Just wanted to brag about my 2001 RX

Just bought my RX300 on CL
With only 65k!
All maintenance work done at dealer
Just cleaned it and sprayed engine bay with CD2 (GREAT STUFF)
Autocheck clean!
I guess not all rx 300 came with wing?

So far no problems crossing my fingers, but you guys will be hearing from me if something comes up!

Congratulations.

Not all RXs come with the wing. Some early models (like mine) came with a different wing from what you see in later RX models which was a 45 degree angle wing (didn't like it and it sits nicely on my cousin's VW Golf back in Mexico).

Chicotrini, congrats on your super clean low mileage RX. Yours has a roof rack. That was an option on my '99. Then again, just about everything was an option back then I didn't have the wing either, you're not missing anything like LexMex said. Ah, the distinct tail lights that made the RX the RX. That's one thing I miss on the 3rd gen. Best of luck

Congrats on the purchase! Sounds like you got a very well-maintained vehicle! What I wouldn't give to only have 65k on my '02.

How are your tires? If they need to be replaced soon, I'd recommend the Michelin LTX M/S2. I got 90k out of my last set (M/S), and only needed to replace because I started getting dry rot on the outside.

Enjoy, and once again, congrats!

Tires in great condition. The last person just purchased new ones. Not sure what brand.
Only problems are
The servo making some noise (I can live with that)
Steering wheel column making a small noise when turning ( I already tried lubing the joints)
Small vibration at idle

So far all these problems have been addressed on this forum so I am not worried about them.

Waiting for the D light to burn out

Well, nice purchase. I just got me one that looks identical with 75ish on the odo. I didn't realize how small these things are until I parked it in the garage for the first time. Do you have any mods planned in the near future?

CD2? I thought they only made oil additives? As far as the wing, I bet it`s a front wheel drive right? Most early FWD`s didnt have the wing in the back. Quick way to tell if awd,or fwd. btw, looks great!

Congrats on your rx300! Bought 02 AWD on Craigs list in Seattle a year ago.(luckily I knew the orig. owner!) Had 88k, know up to 103k. Yes the Michelin LTX are great tires. Iput studs on for winter, but really did not need to. (ski 2days a week). WHAT is DX2 engine cleaner? Need to spiffy up under hood. Just did the Clay bar thing and it looks Fabulous!
D light is out. Sure do like the highway ride on our frequent road trips.

Makes your engine bay look shiny.
Its something like that the dealers use to make it look wet like with armorall.
Unlike armorall it does not dry out.
For best result was with Purple power engine cleaner then spray CD2.
Make certain to cover all electronic parts with plastic bag.

What is clay bar?

I just did the D light bulb in mine as well.
Took about 20 minutes because for some reason the 2 screws holding the bezel was extremely tight.

Here is the DIY on how to replace it
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...ght-out-3.html

Note: you do not need to remove the plastic cover on the back of the instrument cluster. You can see the D bulb as soon as you flip it. Use a small flat head or Philips to remove
