Rattling Noise in my Engine
#16
I would bet you have a misfire in cylinders 2,4, or 6 which I think are the rear cylinders.
Sounds like a possible misfire to me friend.

The RX300 is spec'd to work with 87 octane gas without pinging (its in the users manual). Higher octane gas allows the ingnition timing to be advanced by the computer for more power but the car works fine on 87 octane. They could have used the wrong temperature plugs. Whatever the cause, it appears to be emanating from the plug change so you need to have them go over this gaian and make sure they used the correct (iridium) plugs. Remember those plugs on the rear bank are a b_tch to change so they may have installed them incorrectly.

Does not burn the lower octane fuel properly. Leaving too many deposits behind in the combustion process. They say 91 or higher recommended for a reason. But I guess they didnt want to scare people off buy saying only. The 87 is just enough octane for the motor to run on, and thats about all. Dont expect much performance from it then, i.e passing power, pulling steep grades, towing anything. And over all performance in general, especially in hot weather.

ok guys, this is the code that the garage read when the check engine appears its P0171 Bank #1...and i don't know what it means. Anyway, i would like to thank everyone for all your replies, i used them to convince the mechanic to change all the 6 spar-plugs free of charge. The previous plug that they put are NGK Iridium...now i have the original plugs from the dealer. So far of 2 hours driving no rattling noise.
