Default Tick Behind the Glove Box please HELP

2000 Lexus RX300 AWD

i have a ticking noise that is coming from a track behind my glove box, it is completely random and will non stock run till the car is off, in acc mode or w/e it wont go on (only when the car has started or the car is ON)

i can take the key out put it back in turn it on and hope it doesn't start ticking again about 1/10 times it wont start

the TICK noise is more constant rapid ticks almost like an automatic rifle

ive had a mechanic and i find out where its coming from and its from a track that changes the vent direction ive shuffled through all of the possible position (feet, body ect...) and it does not change the ticking noise or get rid of it.

It seems to be the track is getting changed by a moving little circle piece of plastic that changes the direction of the track, but the circle piece of plastic moves down and continues to move down till it cant go anymore and tries to push the track even farther than it should go (thus comes the ticking)

please help im ready to sell this buy cant if this ticking keeps happening cause the only way to not hear it is to blast some music and if u dont within 15minutes of it you will wanna suck the barrel of a shot gun -_-

PLEASE HELP!!!

There are (at least) two servo units that are affected by the AC. One is controlled by pushing the AC dash button that sends air to the head, feet, or both. The other is controlled by the temperature **** (it opens and closes a flap in the vent). The servo that is controlled by the temperature **** is probably the one that is broken so changing the direction (head, feet, or both) will have no affect on that noise. The contacts in the broken servo are worn out. Think of a circular race track but half way around the track there is a gap that crosses all the tracks and so you can go no further (no more electrical conductor there ) so you cant complete your race, but you try (that's one click/skip of the gear) but you can't go further; then you try again (that's another click/skip of the gear) and so on. It cost about 100-150 to buy the servo unit and takes maybe an hour to replace. Or you can try and fix it with something that repairs that electrical conduit (im still looking for that).

If you don't get that servo thing cleaned or replaced. Could it damage your car in anyway. And how much would something like that cost if a Lexus dealer did it compared to a mom and pop shop
