Default iridium or platinum plugs

was going to change the plugs on the wife's 2002 RX300 and bought new ones at autozone. I got the bosch platinum ones. Got home and under the hood is a little sticker that says use iridium plugs. what gives?

can i sue these plugs or should I stick with iridium? NGK or what?

thank you,

Sully

I just did my plugs today. I bought the NGK Platinums @ Autozone for $2.99 a piece. Napa has them for $2.49 but they were closed today. Maybe they price match?

I would stick to exactly what your manual says. They are NGK's. They are $9.02each at Advance Auto Parts... Don't venture away from the original plugs.

I agree. I am the same way with my 540i. The platinums I purchased were allegidly OEM approved by Lexus. I been laid off for a while now and could not afford the NGKs you are referring to so I had to opt for the NGK platinums. We could not afford a tank and a half a week in gas.

I am voting for the IRIDIUM, either Denso or NGK. Both are the finest plugs I've ever seen. I can't even fathom any other plug lasting as long as they do. I purchased the new plugs (same as original) BEFORE I removed the old ones. At 97K mi. they looked almost like new and checked the gap, it was exactly as new. I wouldn't dream of using anything else. The car has 150k + mi. on it now and if I had checked the original before I bought the new, they would still be running in it. I would throw the BOTCHED (Bosch) plugs in the trash can!

BTW, I bought the original Iridium plugs for about $8. ea on E-bay.

X2, stick with Denso or NGK.

I'd go with the iridiums, too, if for no other reason than they last longer than platinums (and they are a b_tch to change).

Are the above iridiums suggested for the ES 330 as well?
