Default What a difference a clean MAF sensor makes.

I cleaned my MAF sensor for the first time, and the difference in power is really noticeable. The sensor didn't appear to be very dirty, but at 100,000 miles it had to be. I used CRC-brand MAF sensor cleaner, which boldly proclaimed on the front of the can a gain of 4-10 horsepower at the wheels. I'm sure nothing like that has occurred, but the power gain is tangible. The RX is my wife's car and I cleaned the sensor a couple of weeks ago, then forgot about it until I drove the car today. Driving away from the house I thought, "What the hell?", then remembered the cleaning. My butt dyno says the power gain is real. Funny thing is I was only trying to increase the gas mileage. Maybe I'll get that, too.
