Car won't move after rear DIY brake job
Hello,
I replaced my front pads and rotors about a week ago with no issues. I went to tackle the rears today and after changing out the pads and rotors I went for a test drive and the car refused to move. It felt like the brakes were applied when I didnt have my foot on the brake. I tried to pump a few times to see if that would release but no go. If I give it lots of gas it will move but it's fighting with the rear brakes. I can put the windows down and hear the left and right side on the rear rubbing. I took the wheel off again and re-compressed the piston using a piston tool but it ended up being the same result. Has anyone seen this before? I dont know why the rears are giving me problems when the fronts went very smoothly.

Yep, the rotors I got for the rear are the rights ones.
And I checked to make sure the foot brake (hand brake) was disengaged, but I dont know what you meawn by star wheel. Can you elaborate?

I should have been more specific the star wheel is on the rotor. It's an adjustment that can tighten or loosen the pads on the inner side of the rotor which are used for the e-brake. In some cases you have to loosen it to get the rotor off, and then tighten it when you put the rotor back on which is when you could have accidentally
overtightened it.
Are the caliper pins smooth and can they move freely?

Last week I helped my friend replace new rear rotors and brake pads (highlander), we had the same problems like yours then found out auto parts sold a wrong parts, check your rotors again maybe they sold you 2WD rear rotors,

After a brake job (on each wheel), one must spin the wheel to see it can move freely before lowering the wheel to ground.
