Default Installed Xm today!

I had Xm on my boat, with winter coming my wife asked me if I would put it in her RX. I have had it in my Tundra since XM first came out so she was jealous. Installation was pretty easy, Toyota makes things so easy. Sorry I meant Lexus! Pop off console trim and remove 4 bolts and the entire radio and nav system comes out in one piece. If anybody needs any help, just let me know.

Hi!

Was it hooked up via the FM antenna? Where did you
mount the XM antenna?

Thanks!

Bob

Yes I ran it through the antenna system. I installed the XM antenna in the rear, lined it up with the rear washer nozzle. Works perfect.

I put mine between the rear roof rack and the rear hatch. You have like a 10" gap, so I just put it there and ran the wires into the weatherstripping used for the rear hatch then into the side panels.

I just got XM today as well. Will install this weekend. What exactly do you need to do to remove the factory nav/stereo? How do you remove the console? Thanks.

Do you mean you "just" pry off the wood trim around the console, and behind that are the bolts? Where is the best place to start prying from?

Hey, could you post some pics of the install? I want to get XM when I get my ES, but I havent been able to see any pics of slick installs of the remote unit. I'm hoping for the ash tray or something.
