Recently I changed both front O2 sensors due to nagging CELs that would come and go. The change fixed the CEL problem, but now my fuel mileage isn't as good (!). Before, highway mileage was around 23-24 at 70 mph. Now the beest I have been able to see is about 21, and that has come with effort. Usually, it has been 19-20. I used Denso replacement sensors and no other changes have been made. Any ideas?

Clean the maf and replace air filter (if you has not been done). Reset the learning and give it few hundred miles to relearn. It may turn out that the new values are more optimum for power/fuel-consumption.

I cleaned the MAF and the air filter (K&N) about two months before this. I pulled the fuse to reset the ECU after I replaced the sensors. Does that do the same as disconnecting the battery? If not, I had to replace the battery on Saturday, so the ECU has definitely been reset.
We are taking a 2500 mile trip starting on Saturday this week. It will be a good opportunity to have some good controlled data.
